Starting in 1988, I began developing then perfected a unique style of performing due diligence on public companies. Working first as a licensed stock broker separating the wheat from the chaff, I read literally thousands of disclosure documents and promotional pieces and press releases in search of a suitable investment for his clients. Then, as an investment banker and management consultant, I continued to build on my already extensive wealth of experience by working with CPA’s and SEC attorneys gaining even a more in depth insight into the inner workings of public companies and the art of effective due diligence.
Then, in 2000, I changed direction and started using my 12 years of full time due diligence experience as a penny stock watchdog. I first just posted on message boards like Raging Bull and iHub then, in 2003, I launched Our-Street.com as a penny watchdog website where I utilized my extreme brand of due diligence to more effectively expose stock fraud on the Bulletin Board and Pink Sheets. Our-Street.com quickly became one of the most respected watchdog sites on the internet exposing nearly 30 companies to the market.
Of the companies exposed, over 80% soon found themselves to be the subject of a regulatory inquiry, trading halt and/or litigation from the SEC or some other regulatory agency. One of my most noteworthy accomplishments was breaking the story about the “wrong number” phone scam which gained national attention. Our-Street.com broke the story 2 days before the SEC and the rest of the press finally publicized it and my actions saved countless investors millions in potential losses.
Now, I’ve decided to once again redirect Our-Street.com and my extreme due diligence capabilities toward finding the rare gems everyone is looking for… the very reason we invest in penny stocks in the first place. Along the way, as I conduct my due diligence, I will review companies and give you our honest opinion on the merits and drawbacks of the stocks we review. You won’t get hype here but you will get my best opinion based upon over 22 years of working in the markets and perfecting my method of extreme due diligence.
In case you’re wondering what’s in it for me the answer is…. not much. I like writing about stocks and I like doing due diligence. People should always spend as much time as possible doing what they like. I write articles for a fee for sites designed to promote stocks as well but decided to keep our-street.com totally independent out of respect for its history and because many of the followers I gained as a watchdog expect nothing less than straightforward and honest opinions on this site.
